About OrthoView and Meridian Technique

Back in 2002, the specific needs of orthopaedic departments for planning joint replacement and other procedures was satisfied by the traditional light box and acetate method of selecting the optimum size and type of prosthesis for each patient. Hospitals were only just starting to introduce digital PACS systems and reduce the amount of costly x-rays being printed.

Focusing on the specific requirements of orthopaedic surgeons and their teams, Meridian Technique worked to develop a software package that would enable on-screen planning for the first time, eliminating the need for a printed x-ray. One of the key breakthroughs was the ability to scale the digital image to size with one click and a range of specialist wizards and toolsets were added to create "smart" prosthesis templates which are quickly and easily positioned over the x-ray.

Since 2002, Meridian has secured contracts with all the major global PACS companies to supply OrthoView when installing digital imaging systems into hospitals and clinics. Successive versions of the software have improved its speed and range of applications so that orthopaedic surgeons worldwide can now utilize the leading digital planning solution for fracture management, deformity correction, pediatric DDH assessment and spine assessment as well as joint replacement procedures.
